Jim Erickson grew up in Austin and received his BA with Honors from the University of Texas in 1978. He also received his Juris Doctorate from UT in 1982. Jim has been practicing law for over 22 years with his focus on criminal defense. He started his felony trial work in 1988 and since then has tried over 100 jury cases, most of those being felony trials. He received the first ever Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity jury verdict in Travis County. There have been less than 5 such verdicts in the State, since 1846. Jim was also a part of the defense team for Capital Murder Defendant Paul Devoe.
